UNION GROVE, Wisc. — The International Hot Rod Association racers in the upper Midwest are tough.
This past weekend confirmed that as the competitors at Great Lakes Dragaway fought through cold and windy conditions for a great day of racing. They overcame sleet, rain and even a little snow in 39-degree weather.
At the end of the day, it wasn’t about the weather, but instead the winners and other racers who made their way down the historic drag strip in the IHRA Summit SuperSeries points event.
Dion Degnitz captured the Top (Box) win with a .013 reaction time and a 5.328-second pass at 132.52 mph in his dragster.
Kyle Collins drove his Chevrolet Nova SS to the Mod (No Box) victory. He had an excellent .009 start and then posted a 6.036-second run at 112.48 mph.
Mopar racer Tim Richmond was the Sportsman winner. His Plymouth posted a 12.01-second elapsed time at 106.73 mph, paired with his .088 reaction time.
