HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — Three racers made the IHRA Summit SuperSeries Sportsman National Top 10 for a second straight year headlined by World Champion Jordan Johnson.
Johnson, who qualified by winning the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser at Music City Raceway, is one of two IHRA Summit SuperSeries Sportsman World Champions on the list alongside 2021 title-holder David Bigham.
Bigham, who represented Crossville Dragway during his championship season, qualified by winning the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular at Knoxville Dragway. He was ninth overall.
Wesley Buchanan from Skelton Raceway in Missouri was the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals runner-up at Holly Springs Motorsports.
Two Midwestern racers also returned to the Top 10 list. Dragway 42 track champion Kyle Penn was third overall and Muncie Dragway points champion Derek Simon was 10th. Indiana and Ohio tracks were well represented overall.
David McVicker, the US41 Dragstrip track champion, was fourth and Jim Andrysiak, the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular winner at Bunker Hill Dragstrip, was eighth to join Simon as Hoosiers in the top 10. Ohio also had three drivers with Penn, No. 6 Cameron Groff, the Sportsman Spectacular winner at Kil-Kare, and No. 7 Ralph Bower, the Pacemakers Outlaws track champion.
The two-wheel riders are up next with the Motorcycle Top 10, followed by the best Junior Dragster racers in 2024.
